How It Works
Amber echoes makes it easy to collect and preserve family memories, one question at a time.
For Families
As an admin, you create questions and schedule them to be sent weekly to your loved ones. Each recipient receives a personalized email with a unique link to their response page—no login required.
Recipients can answer by writing or recording their voice. Audio responses are automatically transcribed, and all responses are organized in your admin dashboard where you can view them, generate AI-powered summaries, and create beautiful keepsakes.
Privacy & Control
All data is stored securely in your own Supabase database. You have complete control over questions, recipients, and responses. Audio files are stored privately, and only you can access the admin dashboard.
Multi-language support ensures your loved ones can receive questions and respond in their preferred language, with automatic translation powered by AI.
Self-Host Your Own
Amber echoes is open source and designed to be self-hosted. You can run your own instance and have complete control over your family’s memories.
The codebase is available on GitHub under the MIT license. You can deploy it to Vercel, your own server, or any platform that supports Next.js. Full documentation is available in the README.
Set up your own instance with Supabase for the database, Resend for emails, and OpenAI for transcription and translations. All the services offer generous free tiers, making it affordable to get started.
